Battle of the Bands 09

Push Start Battle of the Bands
Geelong heat

The FReeZA Push Start is a state-wide Battle of the Bands competition that showcases young and emerging Victorian performers under the age of 21 and has been doing so since 1995.

The program now incorporates 70 youth-music FReeZA Committees across the state that host heats, allowing young bands living in both regional and metropolitan areas to have an opportunity to compete.

Five local bands will battle it out in the Geelong Heat of the Push Start Battle of the Bands at the Courthouse Arts Centre on Friday, August 14th.  The All-ages gig will kick off at 7pm (doors open at 6.45), and will showcase different styles of original local music including indie, roots/blues, punk, and rock.

medea

medea2Euripides’ classic tale of murder and betrayal… with puppets.
SemicolonbackslasH presents a twisted new take on an ancient story. In this new production directed by Johannes Scherpenhuizen, Medea’s story of isolation and retribution is told through a combination of modern and traditional puppet forms. Exploring themes of power and transformation, the theatre itself comes to life to tell Medea’s story: her greatest victory, her greatest tragedy – and the price paid for both
